Background:

Farmed Animal Funders (FAF) seeks an entrepreneurial leader as the Director of Philanthropy to lead FAF’s strategy to significantly grow the number of philanthropists giving to charities working to end factory farming and to build a more humane and sustainable food system globally. As the leader of a strategy within an ambitious and ideologically diverse funder network, this position will enjoy remote work, the opportunity to shape the strategy, meaningful funder relationships, and a fast-paced work environment with outsized possibilities for impact. This position is unique in scope, the focus is on bringing new funders into the movement overall, not fundraising for one organization.

Farmed Animal Funders (FAF) was founded in 2017 by a tight-knit group of foundations and high-net-worth individuals with the belief that we can end factory farming and build a plant-centered society faster together. FAF includes 45 funders around the world. Its existing programs include monthly group calls, philanthropic advising, a pooled fund, funding circles, socials, newsletter, and an annual in-person retreat. FAF is fiscally sponsored by the Humane America Animal Foundation and governed by a Steering Committee.

This position has major potential for impact in a movement that is underfunded relative to the size and scope of the problems we address. The Director of Philanthropy is responsible for identifying, cultivating and connecting aligned high-net-worth individuals and foundations to the farm animal protection movement.  We welcome candidates with farm animal protection experience who excel at building relationships and inspiring high-net-wealth individuals, even without an extensive philanthropy background.
