General Board Member Role Description

The Northwest Animal Rights Network (NARN) advocates for the rights of all sentient beings - the right to choose, to be free from oppression and exploitation - by pursuing campaigns, facilitating education, and connecting Pacific Northwest organizations.

All NARN board members are expected to work to fulfill this mission while upholding the core values of the organization: compassion & respect, non-violence, education, community, and action. The NARN board is made up of passionate volunteers who dedicate their time to helping sentient beings of all forms. Serving on the NARN Board gives people the opportunity to work on the day to day activities of a non-profit.  NARN needs your passion and expertise to help us be effective.

NARN is committed to approaching its work through a multispecies lens and acknowledges that animal rights advocacy intersects with a variety of other social justice movements; oppression is intricately linked and dismantling animal oppressive systems requires the dismantling of all oppressive systems. Please familiarize yourself with NARN’s Justice, Equity, and Belonging (JEB) mission before applying. Furthermore, please be sure that you will be able to uphold NARN’s mission and values as an organization.
