Are you organised, tech-savvy, and passionate about animal rights? Join the International Centre for Animal Rights and Ethics (ICARE) as an Online Event Coordinator (Volunteer) to help us plan, promote, and execute impactful virtual events.
ICARE is dedicated to advocating for animals' fundamental rights through education, research, and advocacy. As an Online Event Coordinator, you’ll play a key role in ensuring our bi-monthly seminars, intensive short courses, and other virtual activities run smoothly.
What You’ll Do
1. Event Planning & Management
- Set up and manage online registration systems (e.g., Luma, Zoom).
- Coordinate event schedules with the team and oversee logistics during live sessions.
2. Live Event Support
- Provide technical support and troubleshoot issues during events.
- Manage attendance, Q&A, and chat functions while being the point of contact for participants and speakers.
3. Communication & Collaboration
- Draft pre- and post-event emails (e.g., updates, thank-you notes).
- Work closely with social media, marketing, and video editing volunteers to promote events and share recordings.
4. Post-Event Coordination
- Analyse attendee feedback and report on event metrics.
- Ensure materials like edited recordings and subtitles are distributed and uploaded to platforms (e.g., YouTube).
What We’re Looking For
Essential Skills
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Tech-savviness, with confidence in platforms like Zoom, Google Meet, and Luma.
- Proactive problem-solving, especially during live events.
Desirable Experience
- Experience in coordinating webinars, online events or online courses and seminars (optional but a plus).
- Familiarity with YouTube and social media platforms.
- Basic video editing skills (optional but beneficial).
Time Commitment
This volunteer role requires a commitment of 5 hours per week, with some flexibility depending on the event schedule:
- Bi-Monthly Animal Rights Seminar Series: Time spent on event preparation, live hosting, and follow-up activities.
- Case-by-case Intensive Seminars/Short Live Courses: Additional time as needed for these events, particularly during preparation and delivery.
Availability during the days leading up to events and on event days is essential, with lighter workloads in between.
