HR Manager Job Description
At Greener by Default, you will be part of a team of experts working towards the ambitious goal of transforming institutional foodservice - and the food system as a whole - by making plant-based food the default.

Position Objective:
To manage the full spectrum of HR functions, including talent acquisition, onboarding, training and development, performance management, employee engagement, and legal compliance, with a focus on cultivating a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace that supports the organization's mission and strategic goals.
HR Responsibilities:
HR Strategy & Operations:
- Execute GBD’s HR strategies, systems, and procedures.
- Collect & report HR metrics to management
- Oversee internal communications to ensure transparency and alignment.
- Stay informed about progressive HR trends and best practices.
Talent Acquisition & Onboarding:
- Manage the recruitment and hiring process, ensuring an efficient timeline and recruitment of high-quality candidates.
- Support the Director of Operations & HR in researching, selecting, and implementing an Applicant Tracking System.
- Manage staff onboarding process; introducing new staff to company culture, benefits, and tools.
Employee Development & Engagement:
- Implement a professional development program for staff and people managers.
- Support implementation of employee engagement programs.
- Distribute annual employee satisfaction survey.
Compliance & Policy:
- Ensure legal compliance throughout human resource management.
- Maintain, revise, and update the employee handbook, HR policies, and processes to comply with applicable laws and regulations.
Culture & DEI:
- Support the team in ensuring a respectful and inclusive workplace.
- Partner with leadership on the implementation and evolution of DEI strategy.

Position Requirements:
- 2+ years of experience working in HR
- Commitment to the organization's mission, vision, and strategic plan
- Self-motivated, able to work independently and take initiative
- Strong comprehension of nonprofit regulations and employment laws
- Ability to work collaboratively with a team
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

- Prior experience with:
- Google Suite
- Asana
- Hubspot
- Squarespace

Compensation:
This is a salaried employee position paying $67,000-73,000 per year, depending on experience and credentials.

- Opportunity to earn a discretionary bonus based on company and individual performance.
Location:
This is a remote position. We are currently only able to hire employees who can work in the U.S. for this opportunity.
